HARVESTING HOPE
For Sustainable Agriculture
Ajit Foundation is dedicated to enhancing agricultural practices and supporting marginal farmers in adopting sustainable and climate-resilient methods. Through various pilot projects, we aim to explore different avenues in agriculture to generate income and improve livelihoods.

Organic Farming: Cultivating Sustainable Practices

Ajit Foundation led an organic farming awareness program in Korfale village, Barshi taluka, Solapur district. Using a demo plot from a local farmer, we engaged 8 Women’s Groups (6-10 marginal farmers each) to teach organic farming techniques, including preparing organic pesticides and fertilizers like jeevamrut and vermiculture.

Around 70 marginal women farmers participated in cultivating tur dal on the demo plot, with free seeds given to those in need. The harvest exceeded expectations, with larger seed sizes. Organically produced seeds were sold at fair prices, boosting the women’s income. Participants also gained knowledge on organic farming and community farming practices.

BANANA PLANTATION
Ajit Foundation identified four farmers with access to ample water resources and provided them with banana saplings and technical guidance on banana plantation techniques. Collaborating with the Green Planet Company, we aimed to introduce innovative farming ideas and expand farmers’ horizons regarding cash crop cultivation. Through these initiatives, Ajit Foundation continues to empower farmers and promote sustainable agricultural practices. By harnessing the potential of organic farming and diversifying crop cultivation, we strive to create a more resilient and prosperous agricultural sector for marginal farmers.
